The Role of Journalism in the Age of Algorithms

Social media has changed the nature of the public debate, their algorithm enriching our lives in many ways; but authoritarian governments have also seized them as an opportunity. They have become a part of authoritarians' multipronged strategy to create illusions of freedom. We will discuss and workshop strategies for journalists to persevere in such environments.
